Sherice's journey began in September when her teacher referred her to the RISE Program. Struggling with reading proficiency and paralyzed by the fear of ridicule, she had convinced herself that she could never master the skill. Despondent and defeated, Sherice entered the program with a heavy heart.

RISE Augusta has many wonderful partners like Augusta University’s Literacy Center, Augusta Locally Grown, and Harrisburg Family Health Center, but the Jessye Norman School of the Arts has pulled out all of the stops this year!

Jenkins-White Elementary held a whole school Christmas party with food and candy and presents for everyone! The whole party was a huge success and all the kids were given an opportunity to see they were important and not forgotten.

Back in September 2022 – there were a lot of concerns about one little man. He was having a hard time focusing in school and mightily struggled with letters and sounds.
